About

My Story

I’m C. César Ibañez, and I live with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). SMA is a genetic condition that causes muscles to weaken over time. Daily life for me requires consistent caregiver support, yet I have always looked for ways to adapt, grow, and create new paths forward.

Growing up, I loved comic books where science and technology made the impossible possible. That vision still drives me. Today, I spend my energy exploring treatments and ideas that could give me strength beyond what SMA takes away. I see these explorations as my own way of chasing superpowers. I also use Lego builds as both therapy and exercise, combining creativity with movement in ways that keep me active.

Living with a Disability

Living with a disability often means carrying two professions at once. On one side, I am building my nonprofit, Ceez Industries, to create assistive devices for others with mobility challenges. On the other, I need to make sure I can cover my own basic care.

Caregiver support is not optional. To get safely in and out of bed, use the bathroom, and stay clean, I need an additional $20,000 a year. That is what keeps me moving day to day and allows me to keep building for the future.

Two Ways to Help

1. Patreon (Personal Support)
Patreon is where you can support my fight to live day to day. Contributions help cover caregiver hours and personal needs while giving you access to behind-the-scenes updates, Lego therapy builds, comic book reflections, livestreams, and Q&As.

2. Ceez Industries (Nonprofit Support)
Ceez Industries is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on creating assistive devices that empower people with disabilities and mobility challenges. Donations here fuel research, prototypes, and programs that expand independence.

Why It Matters

My life has always been about refusing to accept limits. I believe imagination paired with persistence can turn obstacles into opportunities. This website is my way of documenting and tracking what is happening with my body as I continue to fight SMA.

To keep doing that, I need the right support in place. Having caregiver assistance to get in and out of bed, use the bathroom, and take care of daily basics is not just important, it is what makes everything else possible. With that foundation, I can focus on building, experimenting, and sharing the progress I make along the way. Supporting me helps keep that cycle going so I can show what is possible.
